More New Cars are Faulty. Check out (Honda, Hyundai, Volkswagen)

Today Honda announced it was recalling 833,000 more vehicles to fix a problem with an air bag that deploys so forcefully it can injure or kill a driver. Honda has recalled almost 1.7 million vehicles since 2008 because of the problem.

The newly recalled models are some 2001-2 Accords and Civics; the 2002 Odyssey; the 2002-3 CR-V, some 2002-3 Acura 3.2 TLs and the 2003 Acura 3.2 CL.

Recently there are many complaints about Honda vehicles. Although hundreds of Honda owners have reported failures of their vehicles’ automatic transmissions but they were not included into recalls, and agency found no evidence of a safety problem. Honda, meanwhile, has said that the transmission problems occurred on models built more than five years ago and that “the vast majority of our customers have positive experiences with their vehicles.”

There are more car brands which are faulty.

1. Nissan is recalling almost 196,000 Pathfinder and Infiniti QX-4 S.U.V.’s because corrosion can cause part of the front suspension to collapse. The affected model years are 1996-2004 for the Pathfinder and 1997–2003 for the QX4. (News on April 25, 2011)

2. 285,000 Hyundai Elantras Recalled for Air-Bag Inflation Issue (News on March 18, 2011). The second Hyundai recall covers about 189,000 Elantras from 2007-9. Hyundai says liquid spilled in the front-console cup holder could leak through and cause an electrical problem. The condition might trigger the deployment of the passenger air bag, even if the occupant weighs so little that the bag should not inflate.

3. Volkswagen is recalling about 71,000 Jettas from the 2011 model year because a wiring problem with the horn could cause the engine to stall (News on April 1, 2011)
