Mahindra plant in Michigan creates new ‘arsenal of health’ to combat COVID-19

Indian automaker Mahindra has partnered with Michigan General Motors Company and Ford Motor Company in its “Arsenal of Health” efforts to create a Medical Personnel Protection Equipment (PPE) for health workers struggling with Kovid-19.

More than 20 Mahindra employees make medical shields from windshields at the Michigan plant. Doctors, nurses, local front-line health care workers and first responders use this innovative easy box-shaped design. Rick Haas, president and CEO of Mahindra Automotive North America (MANA), said, “Our Michigan employees have taken all sorts of steps to combat the Kovid-19.”

“We have a company that likes to design and build things. They’re not people who want to stand out over the years. We have ideas coming up throughout the company. We’re all excited.” Haas added.

Our state, Michigan congressional delegation, together with commercial corporations, Oakland County and local businesses, is getting the products needed for the top workers in times of crisis. In addition, the company announced a number of planning and execution programs from its Auburn Hills Michigan headquarters and manufacturing facility. An Indian automaker is distributing organic food to Oakland County workers with the help of a food truck owner.

Meanwhile, data from Johns Hopkins University show that the number of coronavirus cases in the United States has increased to 600,000. The death toll exceeds 25 thousand.
