1. This first step is easy and affordable. First check all your fluid levels (coolant, transmission, differential, power steering and brake) making sure there aren’t any leaks. Top off any fluids that are low. Next change your engine oil. It is always a good idea to change your oil between seasons.

2. Check your tyre pressure. Tyres perform differently in different weather conditions. If you can see the ‘wear bars’ or if your tyres look smooth, it’s time to replace them. Also inspect your hoses and belts. Hoses are important because they pump coolant to and from the engine and belts run the fan the cools the system. Check for cracks, leaks and loose connections and replace any if needed.

3. Our last tip is to have your AC system checked and serviced. You will probably run your car’s AC during most of your road trip so it is important to make sure that it is running properly. To ensure that your refrigerant is at the proper levels, this should be done by a trained mechanic.

Top off these tips by having your car detailed or washing it yourself. Have a happy and safe road trip!
