3 Tips to replace bright car lights with LEDs
Using LED lights for your vehicle can be a matter of safety and efficiency. Having brighter lights make you more visible at night. LED bulbs offer up to 50,000 hours of working life, making them virtually maintenance free. LED lights are also a great way to accessorize your ride.
1. Determine what lights you want to replace.
Deciding the type of lights you want to replace is good place to start. Knowing what part you want to swap will make it that much easier to search for replacement lights. Lights exist in several different locations on a car and LED replacements are available for each of them. Lights that can be replaced by LEDs include:
• Headlights
• Tail Lights
• Brake lights
• Reverse lights
• Fog Lights
• Turn signal lights
• Interior Lights
• Mirror Lights
2. Find out your light’s part number, bulb size, and style.
After you’ve determined what lights you want to replace, you have to look up the part number, bulb size, and style for each light. The size and style are very important; one part number can have many different sizes and styles
3. Choose Your Color
Here’s the fun part: what color LEDs should you choose? It depends on the light you’re replacing.
For most interior lights, Frozen White would be best; map lights, dome lights or cargo area lights are used mainly for seeing in the car, so picking a non-conventional color might not be the best idea for those two lights. For puddle lights or other vanity lights, you might want to use something more fun—anything from boost Blue to power Purple! The only limit is your imagination.
